SISTA (Sisters Informing Sisters on Topics of AIDS)
This is a 5-session group for African American and Latina women over the age of 18 living in the San Gabriel Valley. FAP health educators lead small group discussions on gender, ethnicity and culture; substance use; and identifying and strengthening social support to help prevent HIV infection. Sessions are held at locations from Pasadena to Pomona, and include food and incentives.

Project SHRR/MPowerment Project
This program is for gay and bisexual African American and Latino men who are age 18 and over in the San Gabriel Valley. This group intervention covers topics related to HIV, STDs, stigma, condom use, substance abuse and mental health. We provide a six-hour educational session with incentives and food at locations from Pasadena to Pomona. |
SWEET (Safe, Wise, Educated, Empowered, Tested)
The SWEET program is designed to give teens the tools to make healthy decisions in relationships and social interaction. Interactive games and activities such as “Who’s in MySpace?” “Fortune Teller,” and “Who Wants to be a Sexpert?” teach valuable lessons and practical skills to navigate safe sex, abstinence, and healthy communication. |
Community Outreach
Keep an eye out for FAP’s Health Educators in your neighborhood! We attends and host community events throughout the year San Bernardino and Los Angeles Counties. Come visit our booth and learn about preventing HIV transmission and sexually transmitted diseases. You can ask questions and enjoy the friendly atmosphere, music, and food. |
